Flexo-Graphics, LLC – Your Local Milwaukee Label Printer

How many times as a consumer have you weeded through products on the shelf to find the one with the best packaging? You passed over the canned good with the dent or torn label. You skipped the box of cereal with the regular old motto to choose the “made with quinoa” label. Even though it is the same product on the inside, somehow the new labeling and unspoiled packaging makes a difference in our selection. What does this tell us? Packaging and labeling are critical you as

  1. Knowledge & Experience

Experience and knowledge are critical when looking for the best label printing company. Layout, design, materials all play important roles and a good label company will be well versed in all these and more. Matching the proper material with application demands can mean the difference between a product flying off a shelf or sitting due to a substandard label. A good label company will vet your product through the myriad of environmental exposures to make sure you pick the proper material for both the product surface and environmental conditions required of the label.  Knowledge and experience go a long way in smooth production and should be paramount when looking for the best label making company, plus an experienced label maker can quickly resolve any issues that come up during the label production process.

  1. Quality & Consistency

Quality and consistency go hand in hand when evaluating whether or not a label company is worthy of your business. A good label manufacturer will provide consistent size, color, material and overall quality in every batch you order. Your brand should look the same no matter how many labels you order. A label company that cannot provide consistent quality will affect both the look and application process of your production. Be sure to ask the label company what methods they employ for quality assurance.

  1. Customer Service

Communication and follow through are what distinguish great label companies  from good ones. The right customer service is essential to saving everyone involved not only time and money, but the stress and worry that often come with meeting production deadlines. Look for a label company that not only walks you through the process but talks you through it as well.

Appearances matter and that doesn’t only apply to people, but certainly to products. We’ve all heard of the saying that you should dress for the job you want. Well your labeling expert should be able to dress your product to get the customers you want. If you are in or near the Wisconsin area, check out our exceptional label professionals at Flex-graphics, LLC. 4 Ways to Create a Distinctive Supplement Label Design

When you visit a pharmacy or a grocery store to buy a health supplement, there’s multiple brands to choose from. Customers may like the wide selection, but supplement makers have a different perspective: Brands other than theirs are competition — and the competition often sits nearby on store shelves.

How can a supplement maker make its product stand out on store shelves, and motivate customers purchase the brand instead of a competing brand, which is easy to acquire and has roughly the same price? One way is to use a supplement label design that contains the following elements that many other supplement containers don’t.

Elite Graphics

Elite graphics are comprised of three basic elements: specific images that apply to the supplement label (e.g. plump oranges for Vitamin C), non-specific aesthetics that accomplish a complimentary color scheme for the label (e.g. the interplay of yellow and green hues on the NatureMade label), and graphics that are printed with excellent resolution. Label quality draws inferences about product quality, hence the need for elite graphics.

Metallic Accents

Overusing shiny metallic accents on a supplement label can make the product look gaudy, but using the accents sparingly creates the right amount of pizzaz to catch the eye of shoppers. Most pharmacy interiors are brightly lit with rows of fluorescent lights. When you place a label with metallic accents in such a bright environment, the accents reflect the light and make the product easy to spot on the shelf.

Health Benefits

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) may allow supplement makers to claim their products are good for addressing a health need, as long as the label includes an asterisk that references a disclosure statement that says the FDA hasn’t evaluated the claim. People buy supplements to restore and support health, so listing health benefits on the front label can be a smart marketing move. For guidance on supplement claims, see this helpful resource from the FDA.

Label Coupons

Some supplements cost as much as pricey prescriptions. If some of your supplements fall into this category, including a peel away coupon on the front label can be a great marketing move.

Many consumers associate higher prices with higher quality, but they still want to spend as little as possible. A coupon addresses the latter without detracting from the former; shoppers see the original price on the store shelf, and also see the opportunity to pay less with the coupon.

Need a New Supplement Label Design?

If the purchase of your supplements falls short of sales goals, and product quality or insufficient marketing isn’t an issue, something as simple as using a new supplement label design could be the solution. We say “simple” because supplement label design is simple when you outsource it to us.

We can provide you with the supplement label features above, among many others, and supply your labels on a set schedule or only as you need them — the choice is yours. We look forward to helping you present attractive labels.

5 Key Features for Pharmacy Dietary Supplement Labels

If you operate a pharmacy that’s considering unveiling a line of store brand dietary supplements, the supplement labels you use for the new products could impact the health of customers.

Below, we take a look at five key features of dietary supplement labels that your label provider should include on the labels you order, excluding the obvious features of listing the supplement name on the front of the container and posting recommended dosage information on the reverse.

  1. Crucial Side Effect Warnings

Like many prescription medications, some vitamins have undesirable side effects. For example, Vitamin C pills that are chewed can weaken tooth enamel. It’s roughly the same thing that happens when you drink a glass of lemonade that’s heavy on lemon. This side effect doesn’t put lives at risk, so it’s crucial — meaning it should be considered — but not critical.

  1. Critical Side Effect Warnings

Let’s say that one of your new store brand supplements is St. John’s Wort — an over the counter (OTC) herb that’s reputed to have positive effects on clinical depression. However, if you stack the herb on top of an antidepressant you’re already taking, you could experience a life threatening condition called serotonin syndrome. This deserves a critical side effect warning.

  1. Overdose Warnings

Many people think you can’t overdose on dietary supplements because they’re sold OTC and don’t require a physician’s permission. However, taking too much of a vitamin can indeed cause serious health problems. For example, taking too much vitamin D can cause permanent damage to your kidneys and heart. With many vitamins, you can have too much of a good thing.

  1. Disclaimers About Usage

Just because a supplement is anecdotally known to be a good remedy for a health ailment doesn’t mean it should be considered on par with prescription medications. In fact, according to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules and regulations, it’s illegal to promote dietary supplements in this manner.

For example, while it helps people relax, valerian root extract should ideally have a disclaimer that indicates it’s not intended to replace medical therapy for sleep disorders.

  1. Pregnancy Warnings

There are lots of supplements pregnant women should avoid taking that would be fine for them to take otherwise. For example, blue cohosh and pennyroyal are considered toxic during pregnancy, while andrographis, boldo, essential oils, feverfew, juniper, licorice, nettle, red clover, rosemary, shepherd’s purse, and yarrow are considered dangerous and should be taken with extreme caution. Listing pregnancy warnings helps parents care for unborn children.

Industrial Label Solutions: Information That Helps Protect Users

Industrial products are designed to perform industrial grade tasks. Consequently, they often deliver more efficacy than products that are designed for commercial or residential grade applications. However, along with the products’ increased power often comes elements of danger that the products’ end users should be aware of upfront.

One way to help ensure that industrial product users use the products safely is to list key safety information prominently on a product label that remains permanently affixed to the product. To show what we mean, below are five examples of critical information that helps protect industrial product users, and should be considered by any company seeking industrial label solutions for its products.

  1. Toxic Chemical Warnings

Industrial solvents commonly contain chemicals that are hazardous to human health. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has done an excellent job of regulating the use of toxic chemicals in industrial settings, but there are still hazardous chemicals that have yet to appear on the agency’s List of Lists. If your product contains a hazardous chemical whose usage requires special protective measures, identify the chemical on the product label.

  1. Fire Hazard Warning

Most liquids and solids that have a flashpoint, which is the temperature at which a substance combusts. Materials that have a low flashpoint ignite easier than materials that have a high flashpoint. If you market a product that has a flashpoint, indicating the flashpoint on the label can be helpful for preventing fires while the product is used or in the place where it is stored.

  1. Step-by-Step User Guide

If using your product involves performing several steps, listing the steps on the product label has two benefits: It helps ensure that the product is used safely, and it also helps ensure that the product is used correctly, which helps prevent rework. If you have a website that explains how to use the product, including the web address on the label would be a good idea, too.

  1. Drawings That Demonstrate Use

Drawings that demonstrate how to use a product are especially helpful for using products that have moving parts. Showing how the parts move helps the user operate the product without being injured, as it is set in motion. If you have a website that shows the product in use, including the web address on the label would be a good idea, as well.

  1. Disposal Indications

When it’s lifespan is over, can the product be placed in a trashcan or a dumpster? Can it be placed in a recycling bin? Does it need to be placed in a waste trap, where it stays until a waste removal company arrives? When disposing of a product has crucial safety implications, the preferred method of disposal should be spelled out somewhere in the product label.

Need Industrial Label Solutions for Product Safety?

If you sell an industrial product, one of your goals is presumably to make a nice profit. Industrial label solutions that feature critical safety information help you do this by assisting end users with using your product safely, which helps them avoid injuries that could lead to legal settlements.

To explore industrial label solutions for increasing the user safety of your products, please call us today at (262) 790-2740, or use our contact form. We look forward to providing you with stock label solutions or custom label alternatives that meet your specific requirements!

craft beer spirit labels

Craft Brew Labels: Is Your Design Getting the Right Amount of Attention?

A craft brewer is defined by the Brewers Association as an individual or company who produces approximately six barrels or less of a product. They must also be independent. This means a larger, national non-craft producer owns less than 25% of the business. A craft brew is considered to be unique and special because the producers modify traditional methods to create a whole new brew in a limited quantity.

The craft brew label is definitely an eye catcher to the consumer for any company working in this industry. The more special the product looks, the more likely they are to buy it. However, slapping this identifying item on a product bottle is not enough to make the sale. It requires a little consumer-oriented finesse including:

  • The Right Materials
  • A One-of-a-Kind Design
  • An Effective Message

Regardless of how the product is created or where it scores on the one-of-a-kind scale, it must offer an exclusive benefit to the customer. The craft brew label is your opportunity to help the customer notice the benefits of buying your product. In the next section, we have lined out what aspects are most important when creating any craft brew label.

What Makes an Effective Product Marker?

The first thing to remember is the craft brew label should demonstrate how awesome your beer really is to the consumer. The wrong design will come across as boring or dull to each individual who scans the shelf of available craft brews. This market is not about reaching every customer on the planet, but rather about gaining loyal followers who will stand by your products.

Taking time to develop the right craft brew label will make certain each product does not get lost on the shelf. Here are a few design tips for craft brew labels:

  1. Add Creativity to the Branding – An attractive design will stand out on the shelf and is the first decision factor for any customer. Adding tailored information about the ingredients and processes used to create the beer are helpful as well.
  1. Clearly Define the Beer – Every craft brew label should have information regarding the style (lager or ale) and/or the type of beer (Stout, Amber, etc.). Creating a catchy name is definitely good idea for marketing and recognition.
  1. Ensure All Product Labels Are Cohesive –This means each offered item has its own unique label with common brewery elements. A good choice is to use similar colors, images, and fonts to make the brand easy to identify.
  1. Get Professional Design Help – Consider getting assistance from a professional company who understands the packaging and labeling aspects of the beer industry.

When it comes to achieving the perfect craft brew label, it helps to have a company working with you who actually understands this market. Having a design team available to assist with every aspect offers additional benefits. FlexoGraphics has been a dependable provider in the labeling industry for over 30 years. Our design team has abundant experience in generating effective designs. Wine Label Manufacturers: Draw More Attention with Customization

Wine labels have become an important part of marketing a product, as more companies are coming up with their own custom, artistic designs. While a customer might argue the fact, labeling is the foremost decision factor when it comes to choosing a bottle of wine (or any other product these days). The wrong color combination, a confusing image, and other factors could send a potential customer down an entirely different path. Wine labels are now a functional piece of art, which needs to make a lasting impression on the consumer for many companies.

Part of this journey will be choosing between wine label manufacturers. An experienced wine label manufacturer who is able to offer multiple printing options including methods, materials, colors, shapes, and sizes will make it easier to reach the defined target audience. Wine label manufacturers should also be able to provide tips to ensure the right design and qualities for maintaining noticeability on the market shelf.

Tips for a Winning Wine Label Design

Before ordering hundreds or thousands of custom labels for your wine products, it is essential to take time to produce the right design and put the elements together in perfect cohesion. Each label communicates the benefits offered by a bottle and serves as an identifiable emblem for your company.  If you have been thinking about customization, consider the tips discussed below in order to create dependable, effective design:

Choose the Right Theme – A theme is the overall feel of the label including the color combination, fonts, etc. It may be classic, modern, have an old time feel, or even provide a fun or silly message. The important thing is to work with a seasoned wine label manufacturer who understand this aspect of your customization.

Personalize the Design – Whether you are an individual selling the product or a larger company, a personalized design has additional appeal to a consumer. For example, including a city landmark or a family heritage image creates a certain feeling for the consumer. For businesses specifically, placing a company logo on the bottle’s label is not enough. Consumers today want an artsy, down to earth feeling from each bottle of wine they purchase and the label is your first line of defense in advertising the product.

Don’t Forget the Info – While a unique design is essential to any product, the details of the wine must also be included: name, dates, and the variety or blend. This information should be placed appropriately on the label to ensure the theme and visual appeal are coherent.

Regardless of how many customers you want to reach or the number of offered varieties, a perfect design will help the product get noticed. Wine label manufacturers who are familiar with the ins and outs of this process will be able to offer you several ideas to boost product awareness. Flexo-Graphics is a wine label manufacturer who specializes in custom design printing. We would love to hear your ideas and are able to offer a team of experienced professionals who can help you build upon them. Contact us today to learn more!

Small Brewery Labels – We Make Short Runs Simple

Diehard consumers often embrace the idea that “bigger is better”. In many cases, they’re right, but the size of craft beer breweries is a notable exception. While it’s true that many craft brew operations have increased in both size and product distribution, there are also hundreds of small breweries that are just getting their feet wet in the beverage business.

We help support these businesses by supplying small brewery labels that exhibit excellent label quality and can be implemented on a highly affordable model. Below are five ways you can benefit from using our readymade or custom designed small brewery labels.

  1. On-Demand Printing

After you finalize the design characteristics for your labels, you can order them from us on an as-needed basis — also known as on-demand printing. This lets you avoid paying for more labels than you currently need, and it’s also a perfect option for seasonal brews that have a short run, but are offered season after season.

  1. Hand Applied Labels

Is your brewery small enough not to need a production line for canning or bottling? If so, we’re a great option for receiving your labels. Get your labels on sheets that make them easy to peel and apply. The labels can contain a special adhesive that keeps them firmly in place, until they are peeled away. This feature helps reduce the cost of human error in the labeling process.

  1. Machine Applied Labels

If your brewery produces enough units that labeling them by hand is inefficient, and you’ve implemented a production line to handle canning and bottling and label placement, we can supply readymade and custom labels that synchronize with your automated labeling process. Order machine applied labels on-demand to minimize costs or in bulk sizes to save on cost per label.

  1. Labels for Seasonal Brews

Each year, the beer industry launches hundreds of seasonal products in the U.S. alone. Oktoberfest brews, summertime shandies, and robust, winter ales are common examples. The drinks often have unique labeling that’s designed with seasonal aesthetics in mind, as well as names the season inspires. We help you sell seasonal brews by supplying eye catching, custom designed labels for the season.

  1. Labels for Event Brews

Specialty beer is made for hundreds of events annually, including Oktoberfest, Mardi Gras, and national beer competitions, just to name a few. We supply custom labels that are specially designed for the event in question. An event-based craft brew can earn it brewer a large chunk of revenue in a short period of time, and our labels help make it possible.

Who We Are

Flexo-Graphics is a label printing specialist with more than 30 years of experience serving the industrial, consumer, food and beverage, automotive, and appliance sectors. Since the craft beer market exploded and hundreds of small breweries took flight, we’ve helped small breweries sell their carefully crafted libations by supplying small brewery labels that breweries can implement economically, and feel confident about how the label represents their brand.

Product Packaging: 4 Flexible Packaging Trends You Should Know About

When we think of flexibility, we often perceive it in a qualitative sense, such as a person who’s flexible to perform additional duties for his or her employer that don’t match the job description. But when it comes to product packaging, flexibility is perceived quantitatively, as well.

A perfect example of this dual approach to product packaging can be seen flexible packaging, which is packaging that is physically flexible. The packaging is qualitatively designed with the interests of customers in mind and presented in a design that is literally quite flexible.

Flexible packaging isn’t new. Some companies that sell products that perform well under pressure have used it for many decades. But flexible packaging is far from a finite science. As the packaging trends below demonstrate, flexible product packaging continues to evolve.

  1. Short Run Production Trends

Many companies, both large and small, are turning to short run digitally printed flexible packaging. These companies see short run printing options as a way to bring flexible products to market with minimal setup costs; at the same time avoiding the large minimum order quantities of tradition flexible packaging production runs. Companies also see short run digital production as a way to accommodate the national trend of more skus per product line without the costly expenses of plates.

  1. Temporary Adhesive Design

Flexible packaging often makes use of resealable seals, which perform their function by virtue of temporary adhesive that stays in firmly place until it’s manually peeled away with ease. Using temporary adhesive to create the seal requires less effort from the end user. Instead of tediously pressing together ziplock seals, the customer only needs to place the package opening in its original position to ensure that the product is sealed airtight to help preserve freshness.

  1. Controlled Portion Design

This trend is particularly applicable to foodstuffs that have a designated portion size according to FDA standards. Flexible packaging can be used to create containers that house several servings in individual units, or used to make individual packages that contain the recommended serving. Because the packaging is flexible, the serving size remains in tact when the package is repeatedly accessed. Customers who prefer standard portion sizes get exactly what they want.

  1. Easily Portable Design

Flexible packaging is also an ideal solution for products that are carried on the go, as the products are commonly placed in carry alongs that expose the packaging to wear and tear. In terms of portability, rigid product packaging can be used in the same capacity as flexible packaging, but the latter type of packaging is the preferred solution because it stands up better to the physical stress that the package experiences as it is ported from here to there.

Need Printing for Short Run Flexible Packaging?

If so, you’ve come to the right place. Flexo-Graphics is a long time, customer focused provider of product branding and identification solutions. We have over 30 years of experience in product packaging print solutions, including flexible packaging for a variety of products.

To learn about our services, call us today at (262) 790-2740, or fill out the contact form on website. We look forward to helping you implement packaging that’s perfect for your products.

Using Coupon Labels to Create Point of Sale Action: Tips for Success

coupon-labelsThere was a time when practically all coupon labels were cut from coupon sheets that arrive in the mail or coupon sheets that sellers distribute from a newspaper stand in store. These methods of disseminating coupon labels are still widely used. However, they pose at least two disadvantages compared to coupons that are placed directly on the product: They require more effort from the customer, which means they can delay the purchase of the discounted item.

Using Coupon Labels Successfully

Maximizing the sales value of coupon labels begins with attaching them directly to product packaging, but there are also some additional strategies that impact the efficacy of the labels. Before you finalize a design and distribution plan for your coupon labels, be sure to consider the following four tips. They can help your company receive the most value from a coupon label.

  1. Make Labels Highly Visible

In terms of branding, it’s a good idea to use labels that match your business’ product packaging colors. However, a label shouldn’t seem like a chameleon that hides on the front of the package. There are several ways to make coupon labels highly visible without detracting from standard     packaging colors, such as outlining the coupon in a bold color and giving it reflective backing.

  1. Avoid High Discount Margins

From a marketing perspective, it’s important to use a discount that reduces cost without calling the quality of the product into question. Because the highest discounts often apply to products that are obsolete in some way (e.g., out of season, almost expired, low-quality, etc.), apply a reasonable discount margin that doesn’t imply your product is worth less than competing ones.

  1. Make Labels Easy to Remove

Coupon labels must stay firmly in place while products are packaged and distributed to stores, but they must also be easy for customers to remove. This is where working with an experienced supplier of product labeling solutions can help. For example, Flexo-Graphics can create labels whose adhesive prevents accidental coupon removal but still makes coupons easy to peel off.

  1. Include a Call-To-Action Message

Most adult consumers know how to use coupons. However, because coupons that are distributed in store are traditionally used when customers next visit the store, it’s a good idea to use a simple call-to-action that clarifies how coupons should be used. Some examples of calls-to-action you could use are: “redeem at checkout”, “use today!”, and “present to cashier”.

Why Get Coupon Labels From Us?
If your company plans to implement coupon labels to stimulate point of sale purchases for discounted products, there are four main reasons to make us your label supplier: We have over 30 years of experience in providing labeling solutions, create labels that perform well under adverse conditions, produce coupon label solutions for businesses of all sizes, and use cutting edge digital printing technology to print labels that are as sharp and clear as the design proof.

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives: Why is Making the Right Choice Fundamental?

pressure-sensitive-adhesivesPressure sensitive adhesives are common on just about every product these days. The adhesive you choose for these items determines how well they stay on the merchandise as well as their permanence. Pressure sensitive adhesives bond to the packaging as force is applied to the adhesive. They are an exceptional choice for contoured containers or those made with flexible materials such as plastic bottles. The adhesives do not require solvent, heat, or a chemical reaction to bond to the surface and are an excellent choice in consumer areas such as:

  • Food & Beverage
  • Household Chemicals
  • Durable and Industrial Products
  • Automotive
  • Wine & Spirits

Pressure sensitive adhesives consist of a sticky substance, which adheres to the surface upon applying a small amount of force. This makes them a lower cost option that is simple to use on consumer products or other items. However, pressure sensitive adhesives are also derived from various types of materials and it is important to pick the right one. Substrate type, adhesives, and enhancement features all play a role in effectiveness. Printers and converters are experts in this area due to years of practice and are able to offer exceptional advice.

Too Many Choices Require the Help of a Professional
The first decision you must make will be the type pressure sensitive adhesive, which offers two basic choices and may consist of several varying properties. This selection entails one of the following types:

  • Permanent – This is the most common adhesive used in consumer product and industrial labeling applications. Once applied, the name speaks to its strongest characteristic; it cannot be easily removed once applied.
  • Removable – These labels are removable for a period of time. An example might include a coupon attached to another label or a two-part label that is peeled back to view product specific information. Repositionable labels fall into the removable category. These are removable over a short-time period to allow for multiple applications and removal. This choice is often used in retail settings, where products are moved from location to location.

The next decisions get a little trickier, as the above are easier to decide qualities and the following factors are able to make or break any pressure sensitive adhesives for your product. The next decisions revolve around the lifecycle of the end product where the label is placed. These factors to consider might include:

  • Surface Shape and Texture
  • Environmental Exposures
    • Chemicals
    • Temperature Ranges
    • Water / Rain
    • Ultraviolet Light
  • Application Type and Speed of Application
  • Minimum and Maximum Application Temperature

A professional with experience in this area will quickly be able to recommend what type of adhesion and qualities are necessary for proper bonding. The wrong choices could lead to it loss of adhesion or damage from harder to control factors such as temperature or chemical exposure.

To guarantee a dependable pressure sensitive adhesive for labeling or other needs, you need an experienced printing professional. At FlexoGraphics, we have years of experience when it comes to designing and printing with pressure sensitive adhesives. We work hard to ensure our customer’s gains the right bonding quality and visual appearance for each of their products. Contact us today to learn more!

Label Design: Why is the Help of a Professional Important?

label-designIf you are trying to move a product to market, then the label design is an important aspect of this process. As the first line of sight to any customer, the label design must not only describe the product, but also gain noticeability above the competition. With this part of product marketing, the rules are not black and white. The right combinations of choices will guarantee the desired message, appearance, and qualities are transferred to any product. Label design involves a variety of choices including:

  • Layout
  • Size
  • Shape
  • Colors
  • Ink Types
  • Adherence Properties
  • Protective Coatings

Unless you are printing only a couple of labels for the lifetime of the item, it makes sense to gain the help of an experienced professional printer. The end cost will be lower, the quality is better, and they have the necessary equipment to print short-run or large-scale quantities. Additionally, choosing to do it on your own only provides one printing method. Experienced professionals offer many ink, stock, liner, and design choices with a lower margin for error.

Digging into the Details
A professional is able to offer advice based on available stocks, inks, application methods, and adhesives. These gurus of label design have inside knowledge backed by years of experience. The design process will take less time while offering outstanding results. Most printing professionals have certain specifications to ensure the label design is printed appropriately. For example, a specific distance is required between multiple line colors to prevent trapping and if die cutting, the print area has to be a certain distance from the cutting location. Here are a few other technical considerations to keep in mind for your label design prior to sending it to a professional:

  • Design Software
  • Minimum Font Sizes
  • Minimum Thickness
  • Reverse out Font guidelines
  • CYMK and Pantone color call outs
  • UPC restrictions
  • Screen and shadow recommendations

These among other specifications have to be met in order for a professional to properly print the label without running over the cutting area or having ink issues. An expert will be able to make recommendations based on your design and help with this process. This ensures the end result is not only accurate, but also visually appealing. Some designs do not work on certain types of stock due to ink requirements or other types of factors. In these situations, alterations must be made to the stock, application surface, or even the printing method.

A professional who has knowledge in label design will save you money and deliver better results. Several decisions must be made around the design including product name placement, the labeling materials, graphics, type of inks, and the shape of the label. Different printing methods will have benefits for some scenarios while others could have too many limitations. Professional use their experience to provide tailored advice regarding processes like material selection or printing methods to deliver the right options at the most rewarding cost.

At Flexo-Graphics, we have minimum artwork creation specifications that must be met, which can be found here. Our team is available to help with any questions you might have and will work hard to provide an impeccable design after gaining an understanding of your needs.

Corporate Run: Team Members Reach Podium

multipeopleAlthough she was late getting to the event, that didn’t stop Mary McDonough from chasing down the field to reach the podium in the Milwaukee River Challenge 5K Run & Walk. Mary’s race literally started from her car, running to the start line to join the race already in process. By the time she reached the finished line, she had passed enough people to place second in her age group.

Mary was joined in the race by five more runners from Flexo-Graphics: Mike McDonough, John Witmer, Duncan Kostowicz, Jake Gould, and Tim McDonough.  John Witmer had the second fastest time in his Age Group, while Jake Gould was third in his age group. The event has become an annual gathering for Flexo-Graphics. In total, nearly 300 racers from Milwaukee area organizations participated  in the run. The event was held September 17th, in downtown Milwaukee near the historical Schlitz Park.

Instant Rebate Coupon (IRC) Labels: How Do They Help Companies Sell More?

IRC-LabelsInstant savings coupons are something consumers see on products shelved in every store. It is a marketing strategy used by companies today to advertise either an item at a specific price or a lower, discounted price. The discount, of course, is applied when customers purchase the item. Instant rebate coupon (IRC) labels are becoming a common method for encouraging consumer purchases. As opposed to mail-in discounts where the customer must perform certain tasks to get the savings, instant rebate coupons provide immediate satisfaction to the customer.

Companies are beginning to use IRC labels on certain products for several reasons. One of the biggest is that it offers a quick way to boost sales in all markets. Another is the ability to get customers to try the item, who might have otherwise looked the other way. Here are five good reasons why businesses should consider using instant rebate coupon labels:

  1. Enhanced Value
  2. Brand Differentiation
  3. Gains Consumer Attention
  4. Easy for Customers to Redeem
  5. Cross Branding Opportunities

Today, consumers are becoming shopping savvy and have increased awareness. A large number of product variations makes it important to be able to make merchandise stand out above the rest. An IRC ensures enhanced value to the customer, makes the product stand out, and relieves consumers of tedious tasks such as cutting out coupons. The savings do not have to be phenomenal, as even a mere 25 cents off will do wonders for any product.

Using IRC’s to Your Advantage
Remember the days of individuals spending their Sunday afternoon clipping coupons from a local newspaper? Now consumers want the savings without the work and instant rebate coupon (IRC) labels provide a cost effective way to meet this demand. Since competitors are around every corner, it is in your benefit to grab the customers’ attention in any way possible.

As an example, at the local grocery store at least eight different brands of spaghetti sauce exist on the shelf. Your company sells an organic, all natural ingredient garden-style sauce. The product is obviously the healthier choice and giving the customer an instant discount will discourage them from purchasing a well-known national brand.

Instant rebate coupon (IRC) labels are designed in a manner to provide the savings right on the product. A professional will ensure these coupons are eye-catching to consumers. As stated before, the savings may be a few scents to one dollar. If it at least matches the price of a national brand, the consumer will be compelled to try it. An experienced service provider offers these benefits:

  1. Easy to Remove IRC’s
  2. Eye-Catching Designs
  3. No Damage to Underlying Graphics
  4. No Residue or Remaining Stickiness
  5. Room on Label for Branding & Promotional Designs

IRC labels are a cost effective way to reach new customers while maintaining those already dedicated to the product. If you have not considered this marketing item, then it is a worthwhile strategy to ponder. At Flexo-Graphics, we have years of experience in working with various types of merchandise labels. Why not give us a chance to boost market notice ability and help your product beat out the competition?

Variable Digital Labels Are a Highly Effective Approach to Promoting Your Products

BottlesDigital labels are becoming one of the most cost effective and fastest ways to move a visually appealing product to market. They allow for additional customization, have a short turnaround time, and do not require plates or other high cost application methods. Digital printing has been around for several years and is a reliable choice for branding your products. Now, a new variation of this option has become the next generation approach to merchandise branding, referred to as variable digital labels.

To put it in perspective, one example is the “Share a Coke” campaign featuring a unique labeling on the bottles with a printed name. Another is the recent Bud Light campaign where every label had its own unique design. The marketing approach is very appealing to customers, as it catches their interest. Variable digital labels are also used frequently to promote security because they provide the option to place unique barcodes on every product as well as images or text.

How Are They Used?
As a fairly new option, variable digital labels provide several opportunities to businesses of all sizes. Since the information is derived from a database, every design may be unique and tailored to have increased customer appeal. Additionally, it provides consumers the chance to add their own personalized labels to your product. For example, Heinz allows their customers to order a bottle of ketchup with a custom label consisting of three lines of black text. Other examples include:

  • Placing Unique Product Stories on Every Item
  • Using a Different Image on Every Product
  • Creating Private Business Consumer Labels
  • Using Quotations for Products
  • Tailoring Products to Customers with Names, etc.
  • Accomplishing Seasonal Promotions

The possibilities are truly endless with variable digital labels because all they require is a design and database. A variety of information may be printed quickly with the highest possible quality.

Why Are Variable Designs Rising in Popularity?
Variable digital labels offer companies the ability to make their products unique and help them stand out. They have been used to launch entire campaigns because consumers want to see each design. This advanced form of digital printing is a great option for fast market entry, as it provide these specific benefits:

  • Quick Turnaround
  • Complete Design Customization
  • Personalized Options
  • No Plate Costs
  • Easy Sample Printing
  • Suitable for Short Runs
  • Supports Last-Minute Design Changes

As opposed to traditional methods where plates are used to print the design, variable digital labels deliver companies the chance to quickly print higher quality labels at a lower cost. The set up takes minimal time, is cost effective, and provides beautiful, eye-catching end results.

One of the largest benefits of variable digital labels is the quantity that may be printed. Companies now have the option to break up the minimum short run count to create several versions for multiple or single products. This new option makes it possible for companies to quickly gain what is needed and with varying designs. At Flexo-Graphics, we specialize in this new, exciting form of digital printing. We will help you gain the quality and personalization needed to ensure your latest products or innovative campaign is a success!

0 to 70 skus in 180 days

When a manufacturer and distributor of a retail product came to Flexo-Graphics in the fall of 2014, they were looking for ideas how to effectively tackle a private line market group segment. They saw the potential for many of their resellers to sell their own private line products but were challenged with some the design and cost challenges with launching dozens of skus.

web shoot

Working with the manufacturer, Flexo-graphics leveraged their new digital center and helped the manufacturer tap directly into this target market. Together they created multi-sku run programs for quantities as small as 250 labels. The program solved the key challenges of bringing the private line programs to market:

  • Quantities as low as 250 per item
  • Production quality finishing for automated roll application
  • Repeatable pricing programs for easy and predictable cost on re-orders
  • Labels delivered in less than 2 weeks from receipt of art.
  • Multiple skus (and multiple different reseller’s Skus) across the same press run

The program was then developed further by the manufacturer, who created key sizes and templates began, as well as, an outbound marketing program to launch the new label program. Within the first 6 months of production over 70 different private line labels were produced, helping offset the manufacturers major brand slow season.

So, do you have private line markets you need low cost, high quality , and quick entry. Call us at 262-790-2740. We can help!

What if you could personalize your product? How would you consider personalizing your products? Would people find it appealing? Would it increase your brand awareness? Would it create a buzz?

Bottles

When Coke launched its “Share a Coke” campaign in the US in 2014, it took a long standing US consumer product and personalized the labels by adding names. They wanted to grab YOUR attention. They put those special bottles on display shelves throughout the US. The campaign reinvigorated a product and created an social media swirl.

If you are a food producer you probably have an opinion on the FDA’s proposed changes to the Nutrition Label. Most recently there has been a back lash from food producers about how they will be required to identify what types of sugars are in their products. US regulators weigh ‘added sugar’ label

When the time comes, if this law is past, we are here at Flexo-Graphics to help make any mandatory changes as well as any other updates to your label. Contact us to learn more about how we can turn this mandatory change into an opportunity for your company.
