In 2015, Flexo-Graphics President Tim McDonough was elected to the TLMI board of directors.

Tim and his brother Mike McDonough bought Flexo-Graphics in 2000. Flexo-Graphics’ roots were in the durable, industrial, and automotive label markets. The McDonoughs worked quickly but efficiently in growing and diversifying the company into new markets. Today Flexo-Graphics is a leader in the prime, automotive, medical, durable, security, and specialty converting markets.

Corporate Run: Team Members Reach Podium

multipeopleAlthough she was late getting to the event, that didn’t stop Mary McDonough from chasing down the field to reach the podium in the Milwaukee River Challenge 5K Run & Walk. Mary’s race literally started from her car, running to the start line to join the race already in process. By the time she reached the finished line, she had passed enough people to place second in her age group.

Mary was joined in the race by five more runners from Flexo-Graphics: Mike McDonough, John Witmer, Duncan Kostowicz, Jake Gould, and Tim McDonough.  John Witmer had the second fastest time in his Age Group, while Jake Gould was third in his age group. The event has become an annual gathering for Flexo-Graphics. In total, nearly 300 racers from Milwaukee area organizations participated  in the run. The event was held September 17th, in downtown Milwaukee near the historical Schlitz Park.

When a manufacturer and distributor of a retail product came to Flexo-Graphics in the fall of 2014, they were looking for ideas how to effectively tackle a private line market group segment. They saw the potential for many of their resellers to sell their own private line products but were challenged with some the design and cost challenges with launching dozens of skus.

Working with the manufacturer, Flexo-graphics leveraged their new digital center and helped the manufacturer tap directly into this target market. Together they created multi-sku run programs for quantities as small as 250 labels. The program solved the key challenges of bringing the private line programs to market:

Two Winners

Congratulations to Mary McDonough and Mike Albers of Flexo-Graphics on their winning performances at the Salus Corporate Challenge on Thursday, September 18th.

Mary was the top finisher of the Female C-Level Participants with a 3.1 mile (5k) time of 24:09.

Mike was the top finisher of the 2.1 Walk Race. Mike finished in 24:15.

The Sugar Buzz – FDA Proposes Changes to Nutrition Labels

If you are a food producer you probably have an opinion on the FDA’s proposed changes to the Nutrition Label. Most recently there has been a back lash from food producers about how they will be required to identify what types of sugars are in their products. US regulators weigh ‘added sugar’ label
