When a manufacturer and distributor of a retail product came to Flexo-Graphics in the fall of 2014, they were looking for ideas how to effectively tackle a private line market group segment. They saw the potential for many of their resellers to sell their own private line products but were challenged with some the design and cost challenges with launching dozens of skus.

Working with the manufacturer, Flexo-graphics leveraged their new digital center and helped the manufacturer tap directly into this target market. Together they created multi-sku run programs for quantities as small as 250 labels. The program solved the key challenges of bringing the private line programs to market:

  • Quantities as low as 250 per item
  • Production quality finishing for automated roll application
  • Repeatable pricing programs for easy and predictable cost on re-orders
  • Labels delivered in less than 2 weeks from receipt of art.
  • Multiple skus (and multiple different reseller’s Skus) across the same press run

The program was then developed further by the manufacturer, who created key sizes and templates began, as well as, an outbound marketing program to launch the new label program. Within the first 6 months of production over 70 different private line labels were produced, helping offset the manufacturers major brand slow season.

Two Winners

Congratulations to Mary McDonough and Mike Albers of Flexo-Graphics on their winning performances at the Salus Corporate Challenge on Thursday, September 18th.

Mary was the top finisher of the Female C-Level Participants with a 3.1 mile (5k) time of 24:09.

Mike was the top finisher of the 2.1 Walk Race. Mike finished in 24:15.

The Sugar Buzz – FDA Proposes Changes to Nutrition Labels

If you are a food producer you probably have an opinion on the FDA’s proposed changes to the Nutrition Label. Most recently there has been a back lash from food producers about how they will be required to identify what types of sugars are in their products. US regulators weigh ‘added sugar’ label
